[Banshee-List] install using PPA not correct version

when I install banshee on ubuntu maverick using the banshee team ppa, it says
it is installing

 2.3.5+git20120217.r1.75685db-0ubuntu1+maverick (banshee)

but Help->About displays "Banshee 1.8.1".  Ideas?
