I've been working on "moving" my music collection from CD to a harddrive.
Because I want to preserve audio quality as much as possible, I've been
ripping the music into flac format. I've noticed recently that, when I play
the music from my hd, there is a brief but noticeable pause between tracks.
This is not ordinarily an issue accept when the album is a live album or one
in which, for instance, one track blends seemlessly into the beginning of
the next (as often happens between movements of a work of classical music).
Then the break between the tracks on playback is annoying and detracts from
the listening experience. I have the "enable gapless playback" feature
checked in the preferences menu, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I've tried playing the music back with several other players and the issue
seems to be constant across them.
Is this a problem with the flac format? With the way I ripped the music?
The player?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
