Thank you very much. That fixed that problem -- I had to get Mono.Addins 0.6.2

because the package in the ubuntu repositories is still 0.6.0, so that problem is 

fixed. Of course now I'm getting a thousand more errors when I run make run, 

so I'm wondering what else I'll have to install manually.

I'm on the right track now at least...

Seems to indicate that you are using CLI 2.0, in Oneiric only CLI 4.0
is supported. You should ensure that you are using Mono-addins 0.6.2
(for unrelated bug fixes) that is compiled against 4.0. The package in
any recent Oneiric should be correct, are you sure you are up to date?
