Ok, so I managed to make a patch . It's my first ever patch so I'll appreciate all the comments/help I can get. I'm not really a full programmer, I'm more of a user that wants to help one of his favorite music software.
Anyway, I was reading that I have to open a bug in order to send this patch? Am I right? I was wondering if it'll be better to just send the patch to the Mailing List and see the feedback I get. I just don't want to flood anybody's inbox, or maybe sending patches through here is not allowed.
Please let me know what should I do.

After you make the build, you can 'make run'  with the installed banshee closed.

This will run the compiled version without installing it.

OK, I'm not such a good programmer but I'm going to take a look at it and try to get the Banshee code and start.
This is going to be my first time I'll do something like this, so I was wondering, is there a way I can can Banshee installed while also compiling and testing Banshee from git?
Like in other words, I'd like to have my normal Banshee and another for developing into a different environment so my music (since I'm going to mess with the ID3 tagging) doesn't get messed up and the devoloping Banshee can use other configurations than my normal one.
Sorry if this is just a trivial question but then again, this is my first time developing anything

Hello everyboy,

I was wondering if there is a way I can tell Banshee to NOT write ID3v1
tags in my music files. Anybody has any idea on how to do this?

I don't think there is such a setting.

If you want to implement it yourself, have a look at the taglib-sharp library, which is the one Banshee uses.

Cheers
