We do have some issues with some codec like mp3 on Windows, which do
not work reliably. This is tracked in this bug:

Please add any useful information to that bug.

The fact that the problem happened after a reboot is probably just a
coincidence, but it would be interesting to know if you can reproduce
it : install Banshee, it plays mp3s, reboot, it doesn't anymore
