Hi everyone, so I spent the last two days hacking away at some minor changes
to the interface and just posted my patch to bugzilla for review. I wanted
to include the community in the UI review. The tl;dr; version is that I got
rid of the next button that included the shuffle options, replacing it with
a normal next button, and moved shuffle and repeat to the bottom left hand
corner.
I largely agree with the changes you've made, and wanted to expand on
something since we're talking UI here.
Is there a better way of defining the "Shuffle by ..." options so they
actually mean something? Maybe it's just me but I've no idea what
"Shuffle by Artist" will actually do. Does it shuffle all songs by the
current artist? Does it shuffle all songs but keep identical artists
apart? Similarly for other By Album, By Rating etc. These might be
really nice/useful options but if they are as opaque to everyone else
as they are to me they probably won't be used very often!
The only option I end up using is Shuffle by Song as that appears to
be the shuffle I expect. :-)
Cheers,
D
For my interpretation of "Shuffle by Artist", I simply select The Artist
in the library and then activate normal shuffle. Do we have redundancy
here or do these options do different things?
