If you lurk on the Banshee IRC channel you will often see people
recommend Picard to tag your music from the musicbrainz database. If
that's properly done all the ID3 information will be correctly set and
thus interpreted by Banshee.

The filtering issue is another bug, but I believe that's work in
progress which I hope will be fully implemented before 2.0 is
released.
