We (the Banshee team) are trying to work closely with them, to benefit
from their patches and avoid a fork. Unfortunately internally they
chose to use SVN, so the barrier to getting their patches to us is
higher than if they used git. They did make a public git repo on
gitorious with the intention of pushing patches there, but I don't
think they have yet. I think they've been in a crunch mode trying to
get the initial release out, so while they've submitted (and we've
iterated and accepted) several good patches through bugzilla, I hope
we'll be seeing more soon. They do a good job on their website
(http://moovida.com) of sending people our way to contribute, too.
