I think there's some option to log every SQL statement in the log when
running in debug mode. Basically turn that on, and just hand a log with
the big gap where you can point out roughly when did the freeze started
to happen and when it stopped (if it stopped).

After a first analysis, maybe also a copy of the DB would be handy. Not
sure about this one though (not SQLite expert here).

I am sorry this kinda took a bit longer than I expected. I got interested in the problem and started reading the source code in an attempt to figure out what is going on.
