This one may not get past the moderators, but I've solved my problems with a good jukebox on Linux Mint 8 'Helena'. I had been running Media Jukebox 8 (which i purchased years ago in the days of Windows 98) on my Windows XP partition. Since none of the current non-proprietary juke box programs available for Linux offers exactly what i want and am used to, I tried using "WINE doors" and installed Media Jukebox 8 onto my Linux Mint partition. It works!!!! Still a few kinks I need to try to solve. There is now a full featured Media Jukebox 12 which is free and offers essentially everything my old MJ8 has: playlists, equalizer, replay gain, special sound effects like concert hall, night club, etc. (I didn't upgrade because I didn't want to have to learn the new layout.) This is not the Media Center 12 which plays and organizes videos, photos, etc. Might be worth a try. Couldn't hurt.
