I have version 1.8, which is what my respository says is the current version.
(Ubuntu Remix on an EeePC 1005HA). I can't get my mp3 audio books to list in
the Audiobooks menu and can't find a way to bookmark them as Music files. Do
I have to wait for 2.0 to bookmark, or is there another way someone knows
about?

We have yet to make a 1.8.1 release which ships this fix, however your best option is in my opinion to use the Banshee daily ppa.

To move files to the audiobook source, drag and drop them  (this is a bug - don't recall the report number for it, and it doesn't work from smart playlists, also a bug which I don't recall the number of)
