Basically, Tomboy uses Gtk.StatusIcon when it runs in the notification
area, and therefore things work better.
Banshee does not yet use Gtk.StatusIcon because the old version of it
in gtk-sharp does not support all of the features they need. Tomboy
doesn't need those features.
Banshee can manually bind the missing API, which (as is pointed out by
hyperair in the bug) may be available in the gtk-sharp-beans project.
