As part of a presentation Greg KH did this morning at the Linux
Foundation Collaboration Summit, he mentioned that Banshee will be the
default media player shipping in Meego for Netbooks.
Congratulations to the Banshee team and everyone who helps contribute to
the Banshee community, this is great news!
Very little has actually been talked about the MeeGo port but the frequency of MeeGo updates has gone up a lot. I would love to hear more about this, since my netbook partly runs Moblin and my Nokia N900 runs Maemo the platform is of interest. Banshee in my pocket sounds all to awesome, it also brings to mind some questions, MeeGo has Tracker as a core part of it's platform. Does this mean we can expect interest in work in these area. Initially I could see it providing an alternative for the Library watcher but I assume more in-depth work might be possible.
