Re: [Banshee-List] chaching music library contents for removable devices/players?

If you are interested in bribing developers with some beers (or at least some money for beer), Foss Factory (http://www.fossfactory.org/) would be a good site to check out. Users can put a bounty on a certain bug or enhancement; if someone implements the requested feature or fix, that person collects the money. You could sponsor this issue - even with just a couple dollars - then add a comment to the Banshee bug report linking to the fossfactory page. With any luck, other users interested in the same feature will also contribute a couple dollars, and it might be more likely to catch the eye of someone capable of fixing it.

Thanks Michal,

Can we vote for feature enhancements? This one has been open in 2008,
and doesn't seem to have gotten any attention from developers.

I would buy a beer (or two) to get this in banshee :)

Bribery while probably welcome isn't exactly voting :)

I admit that with regards to syncing I think we have more important issues to address right now. Syncing failing consistently when the podcast extension that fact that the whole library sync doesn't in fact ever end up with me having the exact same amount of tracks on my device as in my library. The baffling thing is that occasionally I end up with more music thanks to duplicates.

Since I have a lot of portable players I have been running Banshee through a small test matrix on them and performance isn't our big issue, correctness is. Right now syncing has a lot of problems.,
