I just gave that a shot...  That basically puts me at this during the configure:

  checking for GStreamer 0.10 gconfaudiosink plugin... no
  configure: error: Cannot find required GStreamer-0.10 plugin 'gconfaudiosink'.


 I had originally compiled the gstreamer source and plugins which were
getting me past configure,  so I tried to remove those gstreamer
specific packages that build-dep installed and now still getting the
error ....   Ideas appreciated-
