To be precise, it will run, but performance is unacceptable:  time gaps 
between tracks can be upwards of 30 secs; tracks can start playing, but no 
sound is generated for many tens of secs.; searching can take minutes; if it 
changes tracks while searching it stops responding or playing for many 
minutes.

The low spec machine that I have been trying to use as a juke box is a 
300MHz, 128 MB laptop accessing a 20k + song directory on a NAS server.
