I've thought about and possibly asked a similar question before.  The
main library view is, IIRC, fairly easily pluggable, and I seem to
recall abock talking about writing shiny awesome library views with
cover art and such.  It'd be fun to play with the clutter-sharp
bindings, I think!

I suspect that what you want out of the library view is similar to
what I want, and that they're better served by something that isn't a
simple listview.  I actually had a patch against 0.13 that abused the
listview into doing something like what you've suggested, but it was a
bad hack.
