I'd like to report the same problem, using a classic 3G iPod with Banshee
1.2.0 on Ubuntu Hardy (32 bit). Plugging in my iPod (by firewire) displays
it on the desktop and in Rhythmbox but not in Banshee. Uninstalling
Rhythmbox did not help.
I ran podsleuth and got the following:
Found an iPod device, but it is not known by PodSleuth:
Error: org.podsleuth.* properties are missing
UDI: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_uuid_AF8A_9380
Block Device: /dev/sdb2
Mount Point: /media/IMPALER'S I
Cause: PodSleuth may not be installed properly, the HAL daemon may need
to be restarted and/or the device needs to be refreshed.
Reinstalling podsleuth and restarting HAL didn't help. The podsleuth debug
file contained the following:
** Could not read iPod property list from SCSI code page **
System.IO.IOException: Could not read SCSI codepage 0xc0

Can anyone suggest a solution?
Many thanks,
