I just submited a feature request with a patch in Bugzilla at

This
adds a rating menu to the Notification Icon's Menu system so that you
can rate a song without having to open Banshee completely.

This is my first time ever to submit a patch to an open source
project (long time user, first time submitter) so please give it the
run through.  It's really simple and I did not do any glamorous stuff
to it (due to being new to gtk-sharp and mono).  But hopefully it will
do some others some good.
