I'm still getting it the same problem. Steps:
sudo make uninstall
make maintainer-clean

./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr && make && sudo make install

I still get the same problem. From the actual error window that pops up:

There's nothing wrong with CVS... just make sure you've done a full
clean (I always 'maintainer-clean' to be safe) and re-autogen.
