At this point I'm at a loss - I cannot replicate any of the detection
failures, so I need some more information from you. Lots of people have
reported that my last round of fixes made iPod detection work again for
them.

I've added some logging support to the DAP Core that should tell you/me
a little about what is going on during the detection process. A proper
detection cycle for my iPod follows, and takes about 1.5 seconds from
the time the first HAL device added signal is raised:

Please update your CVS again and run from the command line. Make sure
your iPod is not plugged in when you start Banshee. After Banshee has
started, focus the terminal and plug the iPod in. Wait a few seconds for
any output to appear and paste it in a reply.

Also, does "ipod --list" show anything?

Additionally, please download the following script, run it (redirecting
output to a file), and attach the results to your reply:
