Hello Guys, I have been hacking a little bit on banshee to improve the speed of the Browser, it comes that the problems is not the Browser at all but the strategy that banshee uses of reloading the whole list view on any change, i did a couple of changes to fix that. One caching the models and changing them, the other doing that but with the view; I will be grateful if some people get to test them and give me your opinion in which is better, i think the view caching brings a lot more, but i am not sure if the memory usage will be to big. For me the performance gain was HUGE with a library of 1686 items, specially with the view caching. I wait for feed back, then I will have to hunt all the small usability problems because of stuff depending on a Reload of the model on any change. Patch a clean 0.10.4 AND DO NOT USE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!! Viel Spaß, Oscar.
