Hi
I am interested in seeing Photos in banshee;
Whatever happened to the development proposals from GCDS 2009 here:
http://download.banshee.fm/documents/banshee-gcds-09.pdf?
The idea of moving F-Spot into a Banshee extension seems amazing;
why has there been absolutely
NO talk on this matter since
2009???
Will the features proposed here make it into Banshee before the 2.0
feature freeze on version 1.9.5 (March 9 2011), and if these
features are still planned, when are they going to enter Alpha,
Beta, and Final?
Photo management is done in F-Spot which during the 0.7.x and now 0.8.x stable series has been moved to use Hyena. A database and cool stuff library which was previously part of Banshee but is now a separate project on
git.gnome.org. So this plan has largely already come to fruition without people paying much attention despite this being a big improvement for F-Spot and one that ensures it a bright future.
This move for F-Spot will amongst other things mean that they can now redo their UI to be really cool, so look out for RubenV and his merry men in coming time.
