Um, what are you talking about?  I seem to be able to change threading  
types as well as expand/collapse threads on the fly.  (I'm using one of  
the SVN versions; I'd have to see which one.)

Ah yes.  You must get a lot of e-mail from Exchange clients.  Doesn't  
"JWZ threading" give you what you want?
