Hello,
Balsa team proudly announces the release of balsa-2.3.10[1]
available at http://balsa.gnome.org/

First of all, thanks for the new release!
I would like to know if it is possible to compile Balsa without GNOME
dependencies? I would really like to decrease Balsa's memory usage on
an old PIII with only 128MB of RAM.
The "--without-gnome" configure switch suggests that it is possible,
but it doesn't seem to work. When configure with "--without-gnome"
the build process fails with the following error on a Debian 3.1
Sarge (aka as "Debian stable"):
We never fully implemented the --without-gnome configure option when we
attempted it one year ago (or something). While it was relatively easy
to get rid of gnome dependencies from the libbalsa part of code, it got
more difficult in the UI-related part. It should be now easier with
gtk-2.6. which provides more of the necessary functionality that was
earlier provided only by libgnome (like the configuration management).
Patches are welcome...
Pawel
