Sorry for the late answer: I got a bad problem with my computer (PSU  
failure).

I use Debian Sid and libgpgme11 1.0.2 and gpgsm 1.9.15

I've compiled balsa with:
./autogen.sh  --prefix=/opt/balsa-2.3.2 --with-ldap --with-gpgme  
--with-ssl --with-sqlite --enable-smine && make

I use the gcc-3.4 compiler
