Not really... the key handling has been improved, in particular the treatment of sending messages if the recipient's public key is not trusted. The patch in gmime-part-rfc2440.c fixes the issue described in http://mail.gnome.org/archives/balsa-list/2005-March/msg00001.html. I don't think these are real show-stoppers, and migrating the patches for you might be difficult, ans the new key handling touches many files.
