I am afraid that this is not very helpful...I have an other idea, though: in the message you forwarded yesterday, the envelope's To: line looks like (replaced the id by x for privacy):
To: "GMX Kundennummer #xxxxxxx": ;I am not absolutely sure whether this format is permitted by RFC 2822 or not, but it *might* be the source of the problem... Could you check (using e.g. less) how the envelope in the original received message exactly looks? For me, Balsa adds a ";" at the end if I remove it from the envelope line above. I couldn't reproduce the crash, though.
