Balsa crashes when opening mail box.

Hi
Trying to use balsa 2.0.17 on GNOME 2.6 compiled with garnome, on Slackware 
9.1 with kernel 2.6.5. When I try and open a mailbox, the program crashes, 
as shown in this bug:

Any suggestions as to what I could ry?
