I'm obviously not up on 2.0 code, but wouldn't be possible to increase motion tolerance?  Possibly as a settable variable (e.g. for those of us who are use to copying from near-to-character placement who would be just happy with 1 or 2, while other users might prefer a more tolerable 4 or 5)?

I think "click very carefully" is best left to those playing mine-sweep or developing advanced CGI environments ;o)
