Highlighting or linkifying email addresses

I've been surprised to see that Balsa (2.2.6 here) doesn't linkify (to coin  
a word) mail addresses like it does with URLs.  One would think that  
clicking on a mail address in a mail programme should do something. :)

If it's not possible, consider this my feature request: maybe clicking  
could open a new message to the given address and right-clicking could  
bring up a menu with a few useful options.
