Hi Tom,

The binaries in all Debian packages have their debugging symbols
stripped to save space on the mirrors. If you'd like to use a Balsa
Debian package with them left in, you may rebuild the package as
follows.

# apt-get build-dep balsa
# DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip apt-get source --build balsa

You can then use "dpkg -i" to install the built package.

Yours sincerely,
Andrew "Netsnipe" Lau

(Balsa's Debian maintainer)
