Balsa2: No autheticators available

I just tried building Balsa 2 (current CVS) for the first time in a
couple of months. Build is successful, but when starting up, I get "No
authenticators available" in an error popup, then hang. Balsa 1.4 works
just fine on the same system. Any ideas what's wrong.
