Balsa Crashing on Spelling Check

I am using Balsa 1.4.1 on Red Hat 7.2 and have been having intermittent
problems with Balsa crashing when a misspelled word is corrected. This
occurs with either ispell or aspell.
This problem has actually been around for quite some time with earlier
versions of Balsa.
Has anyone else seen this, and is there a fix?
