Perhaps the whole mailbox-handling can be overworked
I think about some more properties for each mailbox
like
- sentbox or not
- default identity
- default To-Header (for mailinglists)
- threaded or not
- collapsed or expanded as default


But there should be a preference that the mailbox should either behave the 
default way (like that in the Settings) or like you dictate to it
