"other client" is vague. several clients (netscape for one) allow large
degrees of stupidity/brokeness from servers. balsa is much more of a
rfc nazy :)
anyway, in this case i won't rule the possibility of a bug in the imap md5
stuff. i never tried and don't know if anyone uses it :\
