pawel commited a big imap patch from Peter Bloomfield this weekend.
summary:
* works better with cyrus 
* breaks with exchange

sounds like balsa isn't seeing the folders as folders but as nodes
containing folders right ?

i noticed even outlook has problems with exchange 'folders'. in the ...
public folders bit sometimes nodes apear as folders-containing-folders 
not leafs. when you click on them outlook makes a little confused face and
eventually gets it right after a few redraws. by default i assume exchange
is broken :) this should be checked by someone with an imap clue though :)
