Extra header fields not included in outgoing mail

I'm using Balsa 1.0.1 from rpm.
In the New Messages window I've enabled the "Comments" field (Show-->Comments)
When I enter text into here and send the message, it doesn't create a Comments header entry.
I've sent a few emails to myself via my Exim mail server and that header doesn't get added to the
email.

Since discovering this I've check the Keywords field too and this doesn't work.

Am I assuming the functionality of these fields correctly?  Or does it do something else that I'm
not seeing.
