Hello,
On two systems now, debian-arm and linuxppc, I've had to upgrade
gnome-libs from sources because the distribution (linuxppc is redhat-
based) included 1.0.55.
First off, does anyone why the distribution would be so far off on
that package, but not for other parts of Gnome? Both distributions?
Second, I'm worried about installing from sources on top of the Debian
and RedHat distributions. To be clean, I'd like to remove the distribution
prior to installing from the sources, but what are the consequences of
that?
A dpkg removal of gnome-libs invokes lots of consequences! In that case, I
simply installed, and both sets of libraries are now on the system...
TIA for your help!
