Crash on sending mail resolved

G'day,

Quite some time ago - several updates ago in fact, I reported a bug where
Balsa would segfault whenever I tried to send out mail.

I finally resolved this issue, but was unable to find the bug report at Gnome
Bug Tracker to comment there.

The solution was to download and install iconv from:

ftp://ftp.ilog.fr/pub/Users/haible/gnu/libiconv-1.4.tar.gz

I found the above link on a site dealing with Unicode for MUTT, by the way.

Once I installed the above and re-compiled Balsa, all has been fine - no
crashing!

My only current curiousity is that something is mangling my butterfly - the X
and O in the center line up in my signature file and appears correctly when
composing mail but when I view any mail I've sent these are no longer lined
up. I've also noticed blank lines for paragraphs that exist when composing
messages sometimes 'disappear' after the mail is sent. (This is viewing the
messages both on my own computer and another completely different OS that my
workmate next to me uses). Is there another library I'm missing that's
causing the problem or a known bug?

Cheers,
Gaelyne
