I've missed this mail. Perhap's it was a private one.

I believe that the correct way to do it is to save the smtp set in the
preferences dialogbox in the identity structure (default identity) and only
here.
In my idea all fields in Identity/default should be available in the
preferences dialog box. This way if a user don't want to manage more than
one identity, he can ignore the identity dialog box without missing
interresting features. We can then easily add an option in the preferences
dialogbox to enable Identity and hide the menu entry and toolbar icons when
it's disabled.

Yes a rework would be great.
Fields like "Reply string:" could be placed in the last tabs.
In the same time this make me think about the interface hall of shame (when
you select ID in the left list and tab on the top). I believe this site (
http://www.iarchitect.com/mshame.htm ) need to be in mind.

What about a directory in the main CVS branch to hold pending patch as
file.
It would be a usefull patch repository without creating a new CVS branch.
I've a slow internet connexion and would be happy to avoid syncing two cvs
branches.
