Release ready?

Hi,

I think we are ready now for release. There were some last-minute fcc
problems that scared me a bit but as far as I can tell this part of code
should work now ok, although it pointed out clearly that mailbox opening
in append mode needs to be redesigned.

I have been considering adding a AlwaysFontset setting that force use of
fontsets no matter if they seem to be necessary or not. This fontset
thing seems to be set up depenent, I was able to reproduce some problems
that people reported on one box, but not on another. Giving such a choice
to a user might provide a workaround, at least.

If there are no further comments, I will wrap up the 1.0.0 release on
Saturday on Sunday.
