balsa 1.0.1 "To:" expansion problem

I tried balsa 1.0.1, but I found a quite odd behaviour in the automagic "To:"
header expansion. When I e.g. want to send a mail to "root@localhost", after
typing the "@" two unprintable chars are inserted, and I have to
overwerite them including the @ with the correct string. I would like to
suggest that the expansion adds either localhost or the hostname if no match
could be found in the address book.
