It seems that the hold is more due to Staurt Parmenter's work on Mozilla, but
if the gnome-mailer is indeed working on a new backend that would be something
to watch. In the meantime, maybe we should work on bugs reported at bugs.gnome.org...
unless you think that fixing bugs would be pointless if a backend rewrite was coming soon.
