Libbalsa

Some time ago there was a discussion about tossing libmutt and
writing libbalsa. Any progress in it ? Is there at least some
global structure (headers ?) to begin with / to discuss ?

Yesturday I saw gftp .. Its using threads a lot .. can this
be done / planned with the new mutt replacement ?

Currently IMAP on slow IMAP server blocks things alot. (and there 
are even no status reports !) It would be nice to get balsa check
e-mail in background, or get next body while reading the current
one. I would be glad to help, if given some kind of framework, roadmap,
or similar.
