Dear Josselin,

I'm not sure if we have discussed visa application with you, but best is 
probably to apply for a tourist visa and that should prevent you from 
needing such an invitation letter (and simplify the process I believe). 
That's what we're all doing.

Hoping the advice is not redundant and useful.
