[Anjuta-list] regular expressions and search-replace

I am sorry if this question is answered in the documentation, but i installed the rpm and it didnt work. I am trying to do a search and replace, i am searching for :
blaa><blaa
and want to replace it with
blaa>
<blaa

If i wanted to do it in jedit, i would replace with blaa>\n<blaa, i know anjuta is not jedit, but how do i insert a return char? (or a tab, for that matter). When i do it the \n way, it justs puts '\n' in the text.
