I've only used Anjuta for 3-4months so may be wrong, but I thought it was the name of his woman.

Okay. Hmmmm.
        1. Anjuta was/is (no offense intended) the man of the man who created Anjuta the IDE (see web page)...
        2. When you want to change the compiler/linker flags, open (at the top of anjuta) Settings -> Compiler and Linker Settings and go to "Other". There you will find a place to put change/customize both of these settings... Sorry it took so long to get back...
