Hey Varad,
I remember I got such an error sometime back and instead of looking into it, I removed everything from the 'all' target of the manuals directory's Makefile. So, Anjuta built fine, but the manuals were not built.
I know its not a solution, but perhaps a workaround until you figure things out.

Hi! Try doing just "make" before "make install". See
