Research on OSSD platorm based on SOA

Hello Friends,

My name is Pratish, currently I am working at Univesity of
Lüneburg in Germany on a Research Project.

My research focus is to define a Open Source Software
Development Platform based on Service-Oriented Architecture. The
fundamental idea is to form an IT Backbone based on SOA for any
organization willing to adopt and develop Open Source Softwares.

The process includes defining components and integrating them
over Enterprise Service Bus. The fundamental components after
thorough analysis of OSSD processes are,

Lower Half of ESB, usual legacy , distributed and also
Internet-based systems

 - Source-Code Management System
 - Package Repository
 - Bug Tracking Systems
 - Forums & Mailing Lists

Upper Half of ESB, systems which interact directly with users or
other OSS organizations.

- User Portals , generically four
  * Customer - Entitled to paid support and services. also, some
        non-open source software components
  * Basic User - About 95% users who use the OSS, take part in
        forums, occasional Bug Tracking
  * Advance User - Help in Bug Tracking , Debugging, Package
        Management and Forum Management
  * Core Team - about 5-20 people depending on size & scope of
project. Individuals contribute to all about mentioned tasks,
but are most often are paid and draw economic advantage from
        their contributions as well.

- Up-Streams : Like Ubuntu->Debian upstream or Ubuntu->Linux
  upstreams

- User Package Management : Distribution and broadcasting of
  available versions.

- Programmer Teams Management : As I have observed is very
important part of GNOME development process.

- Collaborations : norms for using & distributing software (code
& packages, obviously) developed by other OSS organizations
like Linux Foundation, Debian, GNU, TUG and so on.

I am interested in knowing opinions of Advance Users & Core Team
also, who regularly contribute to Gnome upkeep.

- Bug Tracking & Debugging
- Package Management
- Programmers
- Also, Forum Managers

If , your opinions are to the point and relevant, I would be
obliged and happy to mention your help in my research work.

Thank you , all, I remain.

Sincerely,

Pratish.
